Love the Ride

To make this Gentle Wish, read the following words out loud. Visualize what you are asking of the Universe, but then let go of all attachment to that desire. It feels like releasing a feather into the wind, confident it will end up where it needs to be.

Please feel free to reshape this Gentle Wish until it matches what you feel in your heart.

My intention is to let go of expectations and love my ride through life

The clock on the wall says it's going somewhere,
Tick-tocking along like it's got truth to spare
But time's just a story we tell ourselves twice
Once looking behind, once rolling the dice

So here's what I'm learning as I slow down and see
The past isn't gone and the future's not free
They're both right here, dancing around in this now
And I don't have to figure the when, where, or how.

I'm dropping the race. I'm letting time bend
There's no finish line and there's no real end
Just this breath, this moment, this turn of the wheel
And maybe that's all that was ever quite real

So I'm learning to love it, this ride that I'm on
The sunrise, the sunset, the dusk and the dawn
The moments that shimmer, the ones that feel slow
The yes and the no and the I-don't-quite-know

'Cause rushing ahead won't get me there faster
And holding too tight makes me miss what's the answer
That life isn't somewhere I'm trying to get
It's right here, right now, in this moment I met

So I'll enjoy myself. I'll love where I am
I'll trust that it's perfect, this wild, winding plan
No calendar pressure, no ticking-clock dread
Just me in the middle of now, riding ahead

The secret, it turns out, is nothing too clever
Just loving the ride... and the ride lasts forever

Now settle in easy. You're right where you are.
